Nikon Z6 III · FTP transferSend photos live from your Nikon Z6 III
Set up FTP transfer once and every photo you shoot reaches Photomitra and your guests' phones in seconds.
Works with: Nikon Z6 III, built-in Wi-Fi and FTP (no accessory needed). Last checked 16 October 2026.
Before you start
Open Photomitra on your phone or laptop and go to QR & cameras: it shows your Server, Port and your team's camera login. Keep it open while you set up the camera.
Nikon Z6 III FTP setup, step by step
- 1
Create a Wi-Fi profile
Network menu → Connect to FTP server → Network settings → Create profile → Connection wizard → name it → Search for Wi-Fi network → pick the venue Wi-Fi or your phone hotspot → enter its password → Obtain automatically.
- 2
Enter the server
When the camera asks for the server type, choose FTP, then enter the Server shown in Photomitra (QR & cameras) as the address.
- 3
Enter your camera login
Choose Enter user ID and type your team's camera login (user ID and password). Destination folder: Home folder (Photomitra tells two Z6 IIIs apart by their serial number).
- 4
Check the port and PASV mode
In Network settings, highlight the profile and press the multi selector right → FTP. Server type: the Port must match Photomitra. PASV mode: ON.
- 5
Send small JPEGs
Photo shooting menu → Image quality: RAW + JPEG normal, and Image size settings: Small (about 2.1 MB per JPEG; the RAW stays full size). Then Connect to FTP server → Options → Upload RAW + JPEG as: JPEG only.
- 6
Turn on automatic sending
Connect to FTP server → Options → Auto upload: ON, and Keep connection: ON. The profile name turns green once connected. Videos are not sent automatically.
Nikon Z6 III setup: questions
Do I need a WT-7 or other accessory?
No. The Z6 III has Wi-Fi and FTP built in. Only a wired Ethernet connection needs a USB-to-Ethernet adapter.
The profile name isn't green.
It isn't connected. Check the address, port and password, and that PASV mode is ON. A wrong password shows up as an alert in your Photomitra dashboard.
Can I keep shooting while it sends?
Yes. Each photo is sent after it is saved to the card, so keep a card in the camera.
